We are seeking an experienced and values-led Safety Leader to help shape safer, healthier and more inclusive workplaces across these environments.
This is a highly influential leadership role, ideal for a safety professional who is passionate about developing leaders, empowering teams, and embedding a strong safety culture across geographically dispersed and operationally complex sites.
About the Role
You will work closely with Executive Directors, General Managers and operational leaders across our Education portfolio to drive sustainable safety outcomes.
This role offers a blend of strategic influence and hands-on leadership, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives every day.
Responsibilities or duties
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Partner with Executive Directors and General Managers to drive continuous safety improvement
- Coach leaders at all levels to embed Our Safety Culture and lead safety with care and accountability
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of safety professionals
- Strengthen food safety, allergen management, and critical risk controls across operations
- Support safe mobilisations for new sites and growth initiatives
- Drive effective hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigations
- Ensure lessons learned are shared and embedded across the business
- Contribute to tender and client engagement activities by demonstrating strong safety capability
- Support ongoing certification to Australian and international HSEQ standards
Qualifications or requirements
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a leader who balances technical expertise with empathy, influence and strong communication.
You will ideally bring:
- 10+ years’ experience leading safety in large-scale, remote or complex environments
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build trusted partnerships
- Experience implementing and improving HSEQ systems across multi-site operations
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and HACCP
- Demonstrated experience strengthening food safety and allergen controls, with a strong focus on protecting vulnerable populations in education and early learning care settings
- A people-centred leadership style with a genuine care for wellbeing
- Relevant WHS qualifications (Degree/Diploma and/or Cert IV WHS)
- Confidence using data and insights to inform decision-making
