An established national law firm is seeking a legal secretary to join their Melbourne office. The firm takes a modern, people-first approach and has a genuinely open, transparent and collaborative culture. They work across a broad range of practice areas on complex, commercially significant matters for established clients.
They are flexible on background, candidates from smaller firms, or other areas of law are very welcome to apply. Law students may be considered.
The role will involve:
- Preparation of legal documents, correspondence, emails, memos and letters
- Working on large documents including track changes and markups
- Assisting with preparation of briefs, court books and court documents
- Diary and travel management
- Client and staff liaison
- Billing
- Opening, maintaining and closing electronic files
You will have:
- 12-24 months legal secretarial experience; junior to mid-level considered
- Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with document management and billing systems (e.g. FileSite, Expert or similar)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive, mature attitude and the ability to work unsupervised
