We’re seeking a motivated, participant‑focused Employment Coach to deliver high‑quality employment services under the Workforce Australia program.
SYC provides personalised case management, connecting participants with a wide range of employers and industries to create opportunities that match their skills and aspirations. With more than 50 locations nationwide, SYC offers accessible, supportive services designed to drive long‑term employment success.
In this role, you will work closely with participants to overcome career challenges, build essential skills, and progress toward their employment goals.This role is based at the Narre Warren site and provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities or duties
- Providing one-to-one coaching sessions to participants, assessing their career needs, and creating personalised action plans.
- Conducting career assessments and helping clients identify their strengths, interests, and values to guide their employment goals.
- Using sales strategies to work collaboratively and network with community organisations to create opportunities for participants.
- Assisting participants in developing effective job search strategies, including resume writing and interview preparation.
- Referring participants through training, counselling, and other services to increase long term employment outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance requirements are met.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
You thrive working autonomously while contributing to a broader team, bringing enthusiasm, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. You have solid administration experience, strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and KPI targets, and confidence working in an agile environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in customer service, client facing or an administrative role.
- Time management, organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise in order to achieve outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with well-developed verbal, and written skills, and the ability to conduct client assessments, developing case plans and case notes and reports.
- Outcome-focused with a genuine passion for helping people succeed.
- Ability to develop relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible across multiple locations.
- Excellent computer skills.
Experience needed
Experience in customer service, client facing or an administrative role.
