Background

Holtze Youth Justice Detention Centre is seeking a Deputy Superintendent – Operations and Governance.

Responsibilities/Roles:

• Lead day‑to‑day operations ensuring structured programs for detainees.
• Supervise staff and monitor compliance with statutory/policy requirements.
• Implement child‑safe principles and manage detainee wellbeing.
• Provide advice and reports to Superintendent.
• Manage projects to deliver policy outcomes.
• Promote safety, quality, and rehabilitation culture.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience managing operations in regulated environments.
• Strong leadership and supervision skills.
• Incident/conflict management expertise.
• Ability to liaise across government/non‑government agencies.
• Experience working with vulnerable young people.
• Desirable: Qualifications in Youth Justice/social sciences; AIIMS Level 2.
