Background information about the job or company

ACM Parts, a proud part of the AMA Group, is Australia's largest provider of alternative and specialty parts to the automotive repair industry, keeping vehicles on the road. We are reimagining the way vehicles can be repaired by providing a choice of options that suit their needs. We offer a comprehensive range of Reclaimed, Genuine, and Aftermarket parts.

Are you a finance professional who looks at numbers and sees a story? We aren’t looking for a spreadsheet processor; we need a curious mind to dig into operations, challenge the status quo, and uncover the "so what?" behind the data. Drive real impact here.

About the Role

Are you a finance professional who looks at a spreadsheet and sees a story, not just numbers? Do you find yourself asking why a variance occurred, rather than just reporting that it did?

We are looking for a curious, commercially minded Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you won't just be sitting in the back office closing the month-end books. Instead, you will embed yourself in the business, partner with operational leaders, and uncover the sharp financial insights needed to drive true financial and operational performance.

If you have a natural drive to understand how a business ticks and want to see your analysis directly influence strategic decisions, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Operational Analysis & Insights: Move beyond standard variance reporting to deliver deep-dive analysis on operational drivers, cost structures, and profitability.
  • Business Partnering: Build strong relationships across departments to understand day-to-day challenges and translate operational data into financial impacts.
  • Performance Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for cost optimisation, revenue leakage protection, and process improvements.
  • Forecasting & Modelling: Build and maintain robust financial models to support business cases, scenario planning, and ROI analysis for strategic initiatives.
  • Commercial Support: Assist senior leadership with commercial reviews, contract evaluations, and performance benchmarking.

Qualifications or requirements

About You

To thrive in this role, you need to be more than technically proficient—you need to be genuinely inquisitive. We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Curiosity & Business Acumen: A natural desire to get out from behind the desk, ask questions, and understand the core operational levers of the business.
  • Sharp Analytical Skills: The ability to cut through complex data sets, find the "so what?", and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A Continuous Improvement Mindset: A proactive drive to challenge the status quo and help the business operate smarter and more efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong Excel modelling skills are essential; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) or ERP systems is highly regarded.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Progress toward CA/CPA is a plus, but commercial drive is what sets you apart.
