About the Role
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of our cleaning and laundry teams to ensure our care home is presented to the highest standard. You will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and developing staff, while coordinating workflow to support resident needs and dining schedules. A key focus of the role is fostering a positive team culture, providing clear communication, and ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally, and in line with organisational policies. This position is ideal for someone with strong people‑leadership skills who is passionate about maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well‑supported environment for residents and staff.

Duties:
- Oversee and directly manage all Cleaning and Laundry Assistants to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Participate in workforce planning activities, including the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of new Cleaning and Laundry Assistants.
- Coordinate and supervise daily work across each shift, ensuring cleaning and laundry teams support dining and operational requirements.
- Prioritise tasks for individuals and the broader team, making appropriate decisions within established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong and positive team leadership, fostering a supportive and high‑performing work environment.
- Build and maintain open, effective communication and collaborative relationships with all staff across the care home.
- Support and contribute to the continuous development of team members to maintain exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the care home.
Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in cleaning role essential
- Demonstrated experience in managing the housekeeping budget and ordering supplies
- Prior exposure and understanding of Audits and compliance to regulatory requirements
- Capable of prioritising work within established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive computer knowledge (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel)
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Experience in an Aged Care, Hospital or Hotel environment is highly advantageous.
