This role involves undertaking statutory responsibilities under the Care and Protection of Children Act.

Responsibilities/Roles:

  • Undertake statutory responsibilities under the Care and Protection of Children Act.
  • Assess family/community issues and apply interventions.
  • Record accurate case data in departmental systems.
  • Develop and implement family support programs.
  • Participate in After‑Hours Service.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree (Social Work, Psychology, Community Work) OR equivalent diploma/certificates in Child Protection.
  • Skills in family/community assessment and interventions.
  • Ability to apply legislation in statutory child protection.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and ability to work in diverse settings.
  • Willingness to travel (4WD/light plane).
  • Current NT driver’s licence.
