The Everyday Business Banking (EBB) team supports the full spectrum of customers’ needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates. We have accountability for Deposit and Transaction Product and Portfolio Management, Cash Channel Strategy, Merchant Solutions, Business Customer Onboarding, Customer Lifecycle Management, and Business Customer Propositions.
See yourself in our team
Join the Deposits and Transaction Crew within Everyday Business Banking, where you will lead across a complex portfolio, shaping product strategy and driving outcomes aligned to high‑value customer needs and business priorities.
The Transactions Acquisition & In Life Management squad is accountable for the management and optimisation of our transaction products, while also managing the portfolio P&L for each product. We prioritise our customers above all else, relentlessly improving their experience and solving unmet needs.
Do work that matters
This is a Chapter Lead level leadership role, leading a team of Product Managers and working cross-functionally across squads to drive meaningful customer and business outcomes.
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, this role represents a step up beyond a traditional Senior Product Manager position, with direct people leadership, and broad influence across the product domain.
You will be accountable for building a high-performing product capability, uplifting product thinking and delivery across your team, and driving alignment between strategy, execution and customer outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Product Managers, building capability and fostering a strong product culture
- Own and shape product strategy across a complex and high-value portfolio
- Drive end-to-end product lifecycle outcomes, including new initiatives, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement
- Influence senior stakeholders and partner across business, technology and risk to deliver at scale
- Ensure strong governance across regulatory, operational risk and product management frameworks
- Deliver commercial outcomes through effective portfolio and P&L management
This is a role for an experienced product leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, people leadership and delivery, and is comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, highly regulated environment.
We're interested in hearing from people who have
- Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager or Product Lead, ideally within financial services or similarly complex environments
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading and developing Product Managers
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable priorities and outcomes
- Commercial acumen with experience in product strategy, planning and execution
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior audiences
- Risk Mindset – All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify, understand and act on current and future risks
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading through change
- Experience working in an agile environment and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Proven ability to prioritise effectively and make disciplined trade-offs to focus on the highest‑value initiatives
