About the role:

Full-time permanent position located in Turner ACT

Base annual rate of $94,498 to $100,280 negotiable based on experience & qualifications

12% super plus access to generous NFP salary packaging options

About the opportunity:

Every child deserves a stable and loving home. As a Sustaining Families Caseworker, you will work closely with families facing challenges, providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive support to prevent children from entering out-of-home care. Through intensive home visits, goal setting, and support, you’ll help families develop essential parenting skills, improve relationships, and create safer environments for their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with families facing multiple complexities and offering practical support to strengthen family bonds.
  • Develop collaborative tailored case plans that prioritise child safety, stability and family wellbeing.
  • Provide strategies that empower parents and caregivers' self detremination.
  • Build strong relationships with community services, ACT child protection services, and other key stakeholders.
  • Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and impact.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related field
  • Experience in casework, case management, or working with at-risk children and families
  • A deep understanding of child protection issues, risk assessments, and intervention strategies
  • The ability to engage with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Strong skills in building partnerships with external services to ensure the best outcomes for families
  • A current driver’s license and willingness to travel for home visits – Pool car available
  • A current WWVP card
