Background information about the job or company

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Zero Knowledge/Cryptography Auditor in Australia .

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of blockchain security and cryptographic research, focusing on the evaluation and auditing of zero-knowledge systems that power next-generation decentralized applications. You will be responsible for analyzing the correctness, soundness, and security of complex cryptographic protocols across cutting-edge ecosystems. The position combines deep theoretical cryptography with hands-on engineering, requiring close collaboration with researchers, protocol engineers, and clients. You will contribute to strengthening the security of high-impact blockchain systems while helping design and improve advanced auditing tools. The environment is highly technical, research-driven, and fast-evolving, with constant exposure to new cryptographic innovations. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the security and reliability of foundational Web3 infrastructure.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Conduct in-depth security audits of cryptographic protocols, zero-knowledge systems, zkDSL circuits, and zkVM guest programs
  • Evaluate correctness, soundness, completeness, and privacy guarantees in ZK-based implementations
  • Review production-level code across Ethereum, Layer 2, and other blockchain ecosystems to identify vulnerabilities and propose fixes
  • Collaborate with security engineers and researchers to improve internal auditing methodologies and tooling
  • Design and develop new tools for analyzing and securing cryptographic and zero-knowledge systems
  • Stay up to date with emerging ZK frameworks, proof systems, and cryptographic attack vectors
  • Participate in client discussions to present findings, recommend mitigations, and support remediation efforts
  • Contribute to internal research documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives

Qualifications or requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in security auditing, cryptography, or zero-knowledge systems
  • Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, including primitives and protocol design
  • Practical experience implementing or auditing cryptographic systems
  • Proficiency in Rust, with experience reviewing Rust-based codebases considered a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience with at least one zero-knowledge proof system (e.g., Groth16, PLONK, Halo2, Bulletproofs)
  • Experience using at least one zkDSL (e.g., Circom, Noir, Cairo, Halo2, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of zkVM architectures and proof generation pipelines
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with reverse engineering experience considered a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction
  • Familiarity with advanced cryptographic primitives or prior cybersecurity experience is a plus

Benefits

  • Fully remote, global-first work environment
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge cryptography and blockchain security systems
  • Exposure to leading experts in zero-knowledge and decentralized technologies
  • Strong learning and professional development opportunities through mentorship and training
  • Participation in global blockchain events and industry conferences
  • Collaborative, research-driven, and innovation-focused culture
  • Career growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving technical domain
  • Inclusive and diverse international team environment
  • Conduct in-depth security audits of cryptographic protocols, zero-knowledge systems, zkDSL circuits, and zkVM guest programs
