At The Flower Market, we are passionate about bringing the freshest flowers to our community. Our warehouse is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where teamwork and efficiency are the keys to our success. We are currently looking for reliable and energetic Warehouse Hands to join our team.

The Role (20-40hrs per week) (Casual and Full-time role available)

This is an entry-level operational role perfect for someone who enjoys physical work and wants to learn the "behind-the-scenes" of the florist industry. You will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of floral products, ensuring our flowers are processed with care and our warehouse remains a clean, safe environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Logistics: Assisting with the unloading of incoming deliveries and loading outgoing vans.
• Maintenance: Keeping the warehouse tidy by stacking away deliveries, clearing green waste, breaking down cardboard, and filling/emptying buckets.
• Floral Processing: Stripping, cutting, and Unpacking fresh flowers and plants.
• Plant Care: Ensuring our potted plants are watered and maintained.
• Production: Basic bunching, sleeving, and barcoding of stock.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who possess:

• Reliability: You are a punctual person who can be counted on to show up for your rostered shifts.
• A "Can-Do" Attitude: You are happy to "pitch in" across different departments when needed.
• Listening Skills: You can follow specific instructions accurately and work efficiently.
• Communication: Clear verbal communication to report issues and confirm tasks.

Physical Requirements & Environment

You will be:

• Standing and walking on concrete floors for the duration of your shift.
• Lifting and carrying boxes and buckets of water (up to 15kg).
• Working in wet areas and cold storage (cool rooms).
• Required to wear enclosed, non-slip footwear (steel-capped boots preferred).

Seasonal Availability (Important)

The flower industry revolves around key seasonal events. To be successful in this role, you must have availability during our peak periods:

• Valentine’s Day (February)
• Mother’s Day (May)
• Christmas (December)

During these times, annual leave is generally not approved, and you may be required to work extended hours, including early starts and weekends.
