About the Role

As a First Aid Trainer & Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in building safer communities by delivering engaging, practical, and high-quality first aid training across Queensland. You will work with diverse groups, from workplaces to community members, helping participants gain the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergencies.

This is a role with purpose, impact, and the opportunity to make a real difference every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver interactive and practical first aid training sessions that inspire confidence and competence.
  • Tailor programs to meet the needs of different organisations, environments, and learning styles.
  • Teach key skills including CPR, AED use, and initial emergency response techniques.
  • Incorporate realistic scenarios and hands on practice to transform learning into real world capability.
  • Assess participant performance, provide supportive feedback, and maintain accurate training records.
  • Stay current with evolving first aid guidelines, equipment, and best practice.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to continuously improve our training offerings.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and promotion of training programs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience as a first aid trainer, teacher, paramedic, or similar role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and comfortable engaging all types of learners.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to travel for training as needed.
  • A commitment to safety, diversity, inclusion, and St John’s humanitarian values.
  • Current (or ability to obtain): Provide First Aid & CPR certificate, Blue Card (Working with Children), and Criminal History Check
