Position Purpose

To work effectively and efficiently as a member of a semi-autonomous workgroup under the competency based system safely performing tasks in accordance with the requirement of Queensland Rail and the Workplace Health and Safety Act.

Position Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the work output of the team by carrying out duties in a responsible manner in accordance with competency allocations.

2. Undertake duties as directed by your Supervisor or other competent person.

3. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Safety Management System.

4. Carry out all work in accordance with the requirements of the Network Function Integrated Management Systems Business and Divisional Instructions to ensure minimal loss to people, property, processes and environment within their Section of Network Function.

5. Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and relevant work standards are met in accordance with Queensland Rail's policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

6. Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the development of new work practices.

7. Work within the guidelines of Queensland Rail's Employee Management System.

Additional Factors

The appointee will be required to :-

  • Comply with Queensland Rail's Code of Conduct;
  • Observe all legal and safety obligations of the organisation;
  • Travel and work outdoors in and around track equipment and structures;
  • Observe all safety and legal obligations of the organisation;
  • Attend further training as required;
  • Work outside normal hours as required including shift work;
  • Travel and work at any location within the Network Manager's area of control;
  • Travel and work under difficult and trying conditions on flood repair and other emergency work.

Comply with the overarching document called Health, Safety and Environment Responsibilities MD-11-6843 located in the Safety and Environment Management System.

  • Safety Footwear
