Technical Product Owner | AI Powered Engineering Platforms

Drive the future of AI-powered software engineering at scale

Join Australia’s largest bank as we transform how engineering is done through AI. We’re building the platforms, tooling, and operating models that enable thousands of engineers to safely and effectively adopt next-generation AI capabilities across the Bank.

This is an opportunity to lead products at the intersection of AI, developer experience, platform engineering, and enterprise transformation.

About AI Powered Engineering

Through partnerships with leading AI and developer platform providers, we are equipping more than 7,000 engineers with world-class AI-powered engineering capabilities.

Our team is responsible for the platforms and experiences that enable safe, scalable adoption of AI across the engineering community.

We work across engineering, security, risk, procurement, finance, architecture, and platform teams to bring these capabilities into production at enterprise scale.

This role sits at the centre of that transformation.

What you’ll do

As a Technical Product Owner, you will lead the product ownership and delivery of AI-powered developer platforms and experiences used across the Bank.

You will:

  • Own and drive the roadmap for AI-powered developer workflows including tooling and integrations.
  • Partner closely with engineering leads, principal engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant AI tooling for engineers.
  • Manage and prioritise complex backlogs across multiple streams of work, balancing delivery, adoption, operational readiness, and strategic outcomes.
  • Coordinate across security, procurement, finance, legal, architecture, and risk teams to support enterprise rollout and governance requirements.
  • Lead product discovery, experimentation, pilot programs, and enterprise-scale adoption initiatives for emerging AI engineering tools.
  • Drive execution and delivery planning across internal and external dependencies, ensuring transparency of progress, blockers, risks, and milestones.
  • Work with technical stakeholders to assess platform decisions, integration approaches, operational models, and vendor trade-offs.
  • Support rollout and adoption of the agentic development tools, and related capabilities.
  • Help shape strategic decisions around AI platform architecture and deployment models, including cloud and inference considerations.
  • Define and track platform success metrics including adoption, utilisation, developer productivity, operational health, and customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and delivery governance to optimise flow, alignment, and execution across squads and stakeholders.

About you

You are a strong Product Owner or Delivery leader with experience operating complex internal technology platforms at scale.

You thrive in highly technical environments and are comfortable engaging with engineers, architects, and senior stakeholders to drive outcomes, even if you are not hands-on with coding yourself.

You’ll bring:

Must-have experience

  • Proven experience owning and delivering internal developer platforms, engineering enablement products, or enterprise technology platforms at scale.
  • Strong product ownership and delivery management experience in large, complex organisations.
  • Experience managing cross-functional dependencies and enterprise stakeholder engagement across technology, risk, security, procurement, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering and developer ecosystems, including SDLC, CI/CD, testing practices, developer tooling, and platform operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong backlog management, prioritisation, roadmap planning, and agile delivery experience.
  • Experience driving adoption and change management for enterprise technology products.

Highly regarded

  • Exposure to AI-powered engineering tools, generative AI, LLM platforms, or developer copilots.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms and third-party technology vendors.
  • Understanding of enterprise security, risk, privacy, and compliance considerations.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps, infrastructure platforms, or cloud engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with AI deployment models, evaluation considerations, and platform trade-offs across cloud providers and vendors.

Why join us?

You’ll help shape how one of the world’s largest enterprise engineering communities adopts AI safely, responsibly, and at scale.

This is a high-impact role working on strategically important platforms with strong executive visibility, significant enterprise demand, and the opportunity to influence the future of engineering across the Bank.

If you’re passionate about developer experience, AI platforms, and delivering transformational technology products — we’d love to hear from you.
