About the Role
As part of our continued expansion across Australia, Skytanking Australia is launching new operations at Perth Airport and we are seeking a Tank Farm Manager to lead this site from the ground up.
A unique opportunity to take ownership of a new operation, driving safety, performance and team leadership in a critical aviation environment.
You will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of tank farm and hydrant operations, ensuring alignment with JIG standards, airport authority requirements, and Skytanking operational expectations, while contributing to our broader national network.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Establish and lead daily tank farm and hydrant operations at Perth Airport
- Oversee fuel receipt, storage, transfer, and distribution
- Ensure accurate stock management, reconciliation, and reporting
- Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and contractor activities
- Support commissioning, site readiness, and infrastructure setup
Safety and Compliance
- Embed a strong safety-first culture from day one
- Ensure full compliance with JIG standards and airport regulations
- Lead safety walks, audits, and incident investigations
- Drive HSSE performance and continuous improvement
People Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a new team of operators and supervisors
- Set clear expectations around performance, safety, and behaviours
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of site personnel
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key operational contact for airport authorities, customers, and partners
- Represent Skytanking in audits, inspections, and operational forums
- Work closely with Into-Plane, Maintenance, and Project teams
Business and Continuous Improvement
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Contribute to national projects and operational excellence initiatives
About You
You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in dynamic, build-phase environments and is confident leading in high-risk, safety-critical operations.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing fuel storage, depot, or hydrant systems
- Strong knowledge of JIG standards and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams in operational settings
- Experience in HSSE leadership, audits, and incident investigations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A hands-on, accountable leadership style
Desirable:
- Technical or mechanical background
- Dangerous Goods Licence
- MR or HR Driver’s Licence
- Eligibility to obtain ASIC and AUA
