Join Our Team: Mental Health Support Workers – Individual & Group Support (Housing & Community)
Are you an experienced Mental Health Support Worker who’s passionate about helping people build stability, independence, and connection? We’re looking for dedicated professionals to join our team, providing individual and group-based mental health support across both community and housing programs in the Boronia, Mooroolbark, Wantirna areas.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting people to live safely and confidently in their homes and communities. This role includes a blend of housing-based and community-based support, giving you the opportunity to make a lasting impact every day.
Housing Support
- Day Shifts in Supported Accommodation: Provide person-centred assistance with daily routines such as personal care, meal preparation, and community access.
- Optional Non-Active Sleepovers: Be a calm and reassuring presence overnight (generous allowances apply).
- Stability & Relationships: Build trust and consistency through regular shifts that support long-term wellbeing.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside families, leads, and allied health professionals to deliver holistic support.
Community & Group Support
- Support individuals to achieve their goals—whether it’s attending appointments, learning life skills, or reconnecting socially.
- Facilitate or assist in small group programs that promote connection, confidence, and community participation.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 12 months experience in a mental health support role (community or residential)
- Understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
- Flexibility to work across day, evening, and occasional sleepover shifts
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to person-centred, empowering support
Please note: This position is only open to applicants with direct experience in mental health support work.
