About Youth Off The Streets

Youth Off The Streets is a not-for-profit youth organisation dedicated to providing safety, support and opportunities for young people to build positive futures. We deliver a broad range of services including crisis accommodation and housing, alternative secondary education, alcohol and other drugs counselling, youth justice support, life skills and employment programs, cultural support and community engagement. Our work is grounded in early intervention approaches that empower young people and strengthen communities.

We recognise that not all young people thrive in mainstream education. Our registered and accredited independent high schools offer a flexible, supportive alternative for students in Years 9–12. Youth Off The Streets operates six independent high schools registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and is a member of the Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW).

Established in 2013, Craig Davis College is a coeducational specialist secondary school supporting students in Years 9–12 who are at risk of disengaging, or who have disengaged, from mainstream schooling. Located on the Innovation Campus at the University of Wollongong, the College provides a safe, inclusive and relational learning environment. Our dedicated team of educators works closely with students to build the knowledge, skills and confidence required to achieve a Record of School Achievement (RoSA), Higher School Certificate (HSC), or to transition into further education, training or employment.

About the Role

Experience, Skills and Abilities

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • The ability to support students with additional learning needs in classroom, small group and one‑to‑one settings
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with teachers, families and external agencies to support student learning and engagement
  • An understanding of child safe organisation principles, including mandatory child protection responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • A warm, approachable manner and ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Confidence using IT systems and digital tools

Requirements

The successful applicant will ideally hold:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, such as Certificate III (or above) in Education Support and/or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), or equivalent relevant experience

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
  • An inclusive and collaborative culture that values diversity, respect, and integrity
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Access to Fitness Passport
  • Additional leave benefits (e.g., purchased leave, gifted leave days, self-care leave).
  • Regular supervision and support from experienced leaders.
  • Salary packaging benefits to maximise your take home‑ pay (common in the NFP sector).
  • Be part of a team continually innovating to improve outcomes for young people
