Primary objective
Provide specialist and effective service delivery pertaining to supply chain operations covering all areas of the Central Australia and Barkly Regions of the NT Health service and external clients.
Context statement
The position requires a physically capable, self-starter, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, committed to performing to achieve outcomes within strict timelines.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Specialist warehouse support and assistance in the day-to-day management of Inventory.
- Accurate processing of stock requests and recording of all in and outbound items, including receipting, picking, packing, despatch and delivery of the items.
- Bar code scanning to generate stock orders via the Health Procurement System to maintain supplies for the ongoing delivery of Health Services. Including maintenance and review of bar codes.
- Liaise with Clinical Nurse Managers and other staff in relation to levels, rotation, sterility and location of stock.
- Research information on Inventory items for input into the Health Procurement System and ensure stocking is in accordance with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Standards.
- Conduct audits of stock and their levels including ad-hoc and cyclical stock takes in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain and assist with the management of the catalogue items in the Health Procurement System and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the warehouse services.
- Foster a positive workplace culture and maintain strong relationships with all staff, external agencies and outside suppliers, through exemplary work practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
- Extensive current practical experience and in-depth knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated appropriate interpersonal skills in the provision of a client focused service.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to effectively organise and manage own workload.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, take direction and contribute to the organisations core values.
- Ability to perform manual handling duties.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, across a broad and varied stakeholder group, including an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
- Sound knowledge of computer applications including e-mail and stock management software
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Materials Handling, Inventory management or related business discipline.
- Experience working in a commercial/public Supply Chain environment.
- Unrestricted Forklift Licence, Medium Rigid Drivers Licence
