The Company
Inspired by Australia's great people and amazing foodie culture, Chobani USA purchased the Gippsland Dairy brand to form Chobani Australia in 2011. Flash forward 12 years and Chobani is Australia’s #1 yogurt brand, living in the hearts (and tummies) of fans across the country.
But it’s always been about more than yogurt. At its heart, Chobani is purpose-led, and takes seriously its belief in making a difference using food as a force for good. The Chobani team is passionate about supporting the communities in which they live and work, adopting a trail blazing approach to tackling Australian food insecurity through volunteering, donations, and community impact.
The Opportunity
We are seeking two team members to join our Warehouse team (1 x Storeperson and 1 x Team Leader) to join our yoghurt packaging operation, supporting a key customer. These are hands-on roles that are responsible for leading a production line end-to-end, ensuring safety, quality, service, and performance targets are consistently achieved. These roles will report into our Warehouse function and serve as a role that can work in and out of our co-pack function as needed.
As a Team Leader, you will operate, monitor, and optimise multiple pieces of packaging equipment while providing on-floor leadership to line teams. You will be accountable for quality compliance, labour coordination, and accurate system and production reporting.
These roles would suit operators or forklift drivers who are technically strong, process-driven, and confident taking ownership of outcomes in a fast-paced FMCG environment. Hours for the role are 6am-2:30pm working Monday to Friday, based on-site at our manufacturing facility at Dandenong South.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and coordinate the co-packaging process including filling machines, case packers, and robotic systems in line with SOPs
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and internal audit requirements
- Complete and maintain all quality and production documentation accurately and on time
- Actively identify and escalate quality, safety, or process risks
- Perform accurate AX scanning and consumption, ensuring BO accuracy and inventory integrity
- Complete all required production and line performance paperwork
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability
- Demonstrate leadership through behaviors aligned with site values
- Support the Warehouse operations and forklift work where required (Level 4 – Storeperson)
- Provide on-floor leadership, coordinating labour, setting clear expectations, and supporting team performance (Team Leader)
Skills & Experience
Ideally to be successful in the role you will:
- Have prior experience in a manufacturing facility in a food or FMCG packaging environment
- Experience operating filling machines, case packers, and automated/robotic equipment
- Strong understanding of quality systems, production documentation, and audit readiness
- Experience with AX/ERP scanning and production reporting (highly regarded)
- Have an ability to follow procedures and problem-solve as needed
- High attention to detail, accountability, and a strong safety mindset
- Be physically fit and strong with a good work ethic
- Enjoy contributing to and working in a team environment
- Experience leading, supporting, coaching and developing operators/casual staff on shift (Team Leader)
Our team have a flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to help others in the team and are empowered to be proactive, take initiative to solve problems and have a continuous improvement mindset. You'll discover plenty of chances to move up the career ladder with tons of room for future growth. Plus, you get to team up with a bunch of friendly and welcoming CHO-peeps in a company that genuinely values your skills and passion.
Note: You will have ongoing working rights in Australia, and you must make a direct application to be considered for the role.
Benefits
At Chobani, social responsibility is in our DNA and that means you will be joining an organisation that is constantly seeking to make a difference for the community, people, and planet. Chobani offers excellent work life balance, free parking and yoghurt whilst onsite, a wellbeing program and a great rewards and recognition program.
