About the Role
Teys Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Statutory Claims Manager to join our Self-insurance team. Reporting to Teys Group Manager Self-Insurance, you will oversee and process a robust compensation claims portfolio within Queensland and South Australia.
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate effective and proactive intervention in injury management matters whilst assessing liability, conducting investigation, processing payment, legal referrals and supporting rehabilitation.
You will be required to make informed and unbiased claims decisions and prepare the necessary documentation for different stakeholders such as legal representatives, injured workers, and medical providers. Additionally, you will ensure all legislative requirements are met and certify all internal policies and procedures are aligned contemporary regulations.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- Sound knowledge of the QLD Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and Regulations 2014, and/or the SA Return to Work Act 2014 and Regulations
- Minimum of 2 years Claims Management experience working within the Queensland Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act and Regulations
- An enthusiastic and positive ‘customer service’ attitude and strong client customer focus.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
- Willing to travel locally and interstate, which will include travel away from home for the entire working week
Desirable:
- Prior experience of end-to-end claims management within a self-insurance unit, or suitable qualification in Personal Injury Management.
- Paralegal or similar experience.
