We are seeking an experienced Software Tester / QA Engineer to support the stabilisation and improvement of a high-volume web application built using PHP (Laravel) with a Next.js front-end.
The application is currently experiencing performance and reliability issues under load, and this role will play a critical part in identifying defects, validating fixes, and strengthening overall quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute manual and automated test plans for a PHP/Laravel and Next.js application
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Conduct performance and load testing to identify scalability and reliability issues
- Analyse defects, document root causes, and work closely with developers to resolve issues
- Validate database performance and data integrity
- Support release cycles and production deployments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in software testing and QA roles
- Strong experience testing PHP (Laravel) back-end systems and Next.js front-end applications
- Experience testing high-volume or high-traffic platforms
- Exposure to performance and load testing tools (e.g. JMeter, k6, Locust or similar)
- Strong defect management and documentation skills
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and proactively in fast-paced environments
Desirable
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, PHPUnit, etc.)
- Familiarity with API testing and database performance analysis
- Experience working on mission-critical systems
