We're on the lookout for a detail-driven Settlement Officer to join our expanding support division. In this vital role, you'll take ownership of loan settlements from approval through to completion, ensuring a smooth, professional experience for clients, brokers, and lenders every step of the way.
Responsibilities or duties
- Verify approval letters for accuracy (loan amount, type, interest rate, term).
- Download approval letters from lender portals as required.
- Training will be provided for lender portal systems and processes.
- Confirm discharges for refinances and update MyCRM accordingly.
- Issue and manage loan documents; ensure clients receive correct signing instructions.
- Track signed documents and follow up with clients and banks for outstanding items.
- Liaise with solicitors, lenders, and clients to coordinate timely and smooth settlements.
- Confirm client contributions and manage fund transfers.
- Book settlement times with lenders and communicate updates to clients.
- Use MyCRM automation tools for post-settlement communication.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all settlement activity.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Experience needed
- 2 + years previous experience as a Settlement Officer or in a mortgage finance-related role.
- Experience in any aspect of mortgage processing including loan administration, settlements, or mortgage support services.
- Demonstrated experience in any aspect of mortgage processing, including loan administration, settlements, or mortgage support services is essential.
- Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional presentation and a proactive attitude.
- Confidence working under pressure and managing tight deadlines.
- Comfortable using CRM systems (experience with MyCRM is a plus).
- Basic familiarity with CRM systems is required, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Basic familiarity with CRM systems and comfortable learning new platforms.
