Onsite Role | NV1 Required
We are seeking experienced Senior Portfolio Managers to support a large-scale enterprise transformation program within a complex government environment.
This role is suited to senior professionals with strong program and portfolio governance capability, experience managing large and interdependent delivery portfolios, and the ability to work effectively with executive stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
About the Role
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, you will lead and oversee complex portfolios, programs and strategic initiatives that support major business and technology transformation outcomes.
You will provide high-level portfolio governance, planning, prioritisation and delivery oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring initiatives align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable value.
Working closely with senior leaders and delivery teams, you will help drive portfolio optimisation, manage risks and dependencies, and support enterprise-wide coordination and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead portfolio planning, governance and reporting activities
- Manage multiple complex programs and interdependent workstreams
- Support strategic prioritisation and investment decisions
- Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and resource conflicts
- Provide program and portfolio performance insights to senior stakeholders
- Drive alignment between business objectives, delivery outcomes and operational priorities
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across technical and business teams
- Support delivery in a dynamic and evolving environment
About You
You will bring:
- Extensive experience managing large and complex program portfolios
- Strong portfolio governance, financial oversight and risk management capability
- Experience working in enterprise transformation or large-scale delivery environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capability
- Ability to work autonomously and lead within complex organisational structures
- Previous experience in government or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded
Essential Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- NV1 Security Clearance mandatory
- Experience operating at a senior leadership or EL2-equivalent level
Contract Details
- Initial 12-month engagement
- 12-month extension option
- Canberra-based onsite role
- Full-time hours
