Challenge yourself to support Payroll activity across the Qantas Payroll Services function.
Work with a broad stakeholder group within an Enterprise Agreement environment.

Our Payroll function plays an important role in the lifecycle of our employees. As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of payroll functions in the Subsidiary Payroll Team for your allocated portfolio, ensuring that they are processed accurately to meet award, legislative and audit requirements, and that all processing occurs within required timeframes. As a payroll subject matter expert you will maintain and manage up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and assist with proactively managing and resolving payroll queries, identify opportunities to streamline operational efficiency and accuracy, as well as actively contribute to key projects and transformation activities.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Proven experience processing payroll and managing complex payroll issues
- Experience regarding the application of industrial awards, enterprise agreements and legislative conditions.
- Financial background, qualifications or relevant experience
- Experience with payroll systems ADP Pay Force & Global View
- Ideally an understanding of Superannuation Legislation and ATO Termination Pay requirements (ETP’s etc)
- High level of computer proficiency including intermediate MS Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of numeric accuracy
- Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at varying levels
- A proactive approach and the ability to show initiative and work independently as well part of a team
- A professional, calm and considered approach under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.
- Strong customer service focus and continuous improvement approach
- High standard of personal presentation and professional conduct
