We’re on the lookout for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our in‑house legal team and play a key role in shaping commercial outcomes across the business. Minor DKL Food Group is a leading Australian retail food franchisor and the Australian subsidiary of Thai‑listed Minor International PCL. With iconic brands including The Coffee Club and Veneziano Coffee, our network spans more than 400 stores across 11 countries and employs over 5,000 people.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading franchise transactions, drafting agreements, and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Providing expert legal advice on franchising, compliance, and risk management.
  • Supporting and managing litigation matters when required to protect the company’s interests.
  • Managing disputes, enforcing rights, and resolving claims proactively.
  • Driving compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct and supporting risk analysis.
  • Mentoring junior legal team members and fostering internal and external relationships.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships and takes ownership of their work.

You will have:

  • 6+ years PQE with expertise in property (leasing) and commercial (franchising).
  • Proven supervisory or mentoring experience (formal or informal).
  • Bachelor of Laws and an Australian practising certificate (Queensland preferred).
  • Experience in litigation is highly regarded however not mandatory.
  • Strong corporate and commercial background with the adaptability to new areas of practice.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • A collaborative team player who also excels when working independently.
  • Bonus points if you love food, coffee and the buzz of the hospitality scene!
