Our client is a growing, sophisticated financial group with interests across private investment, funds management, advisory, and corporate entities. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in managing and enhancing the group’s financial operations across a complex, multi-entity environment.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to senior stakeholders, investment partners, and private wealth structures, with genuine scope to grow as the group continues to expand.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for high-quality financial accounting, compliance, fund accounting, and treasury management across multiple corporate, trust, fund, and private entities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Tax & Compliance
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, PAYG, payroll tax and statutory obligations
- Supporting year-end statutory accounts, audits, and tax submissions
- Coordinating with external accountants, tax advisers, and auditors
- Maintaining tax forecasts including income tax, CGT, FBT, and distributions
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- End-to-end month-end close, journals, accruals, intercompany transactions
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Balance sheet, bank, loan, credit card, and investment reconciliations
- Supporting budgeting, cashflow forecasting, management reporting and board packs
Fund & Investment Accounting
- Full fund accounting including NAV, unit pricing, capital accounts and distributions
- Investor reporting, liquidity management, and audit support
- Maintaining investment registers and tracking valuations and performance
Treasury & Cashflow
- Group-wide cashflow forecasting and liquidity management
- Intercompany loan management and reconciliations
- Improving cash management systems and controls
Systems & Process Improvement
- Optimising Xero and reporting tools
- Driving automation, documentation, and process improvements
- Supporting system enhancements as the group scales
About You
You will bring a strong technical accounting foundation combined with a proactive, commercially minded approach.
Ideally, you will have:
- CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in financial accounting within a multi-entity environment
- Exposure to private wealth, family office, funds, investments, or complex group structures
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills and solid experience with Xero
- High attention to detail, strong ethics, and discretion
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external advisers
