An exciting opportunity has opened within our Information Technology team at JBS Australia for an experienced Senior Database Administrator in our Database Administration function. Reporting to the Head of Applications & Technical Development Services, this role offers the chance to work with a market leader in the food and agribusiness sector, supporting critical enterprise systems across a complex and fast-paced environment.

As a senior technical leader, you will be responsible for the design, performance, security, and availability of enterprise database platforms, while leading a team to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration and optimisation of database platforms (MS SQL Server, Progress)
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system resilience
- Manage and troubleshoot SQL replication and replication tools (Fivetran, Qlik Replicate, Snowflake)
- Monitor performance, capacity, and proactively tune database environments
- Oversee backup, recovery, and data integrity processes
- Support cloud and hybrid database environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS)
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions
- Provide technical leadership, standards, and best practice guidance across the team
- Support system upgrades, releases, and migrations, including cloud transitions
- Drive automation and continuous improvement through scripting and infrastructure-as-code
About You
- 8+ years’ experience in Database Administration within enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimisation
- Hands-on experience with database replication, high availability, and recovery models
- Exposure to cloud database platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments
- Solid understanding of database security and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to lead, prioritise, and deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
