With the rapid and exceptional growth of our business and BYD Haberfield’s strong momentum in the Australian market, we are experiencing high volumes and now need to expand our Finance team accordingly.

As an Sr. Accountant, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with our finance and operations teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and relevant tax regulations (ATO).
• Ensure timely BAS, GST, FBT, and income tax lodgements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management for decision-making.

Audit & Internal Controls

• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Work with the finance team to streamline systems and improve automation processes.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting experience; candidates with automotive dealership industry experience are preferred
• Experience with Dealer Management Systems is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Mandarin-speaking is highly preferred to liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and clients
