Join the revelry at Drifter Melbourne
Welcome to Drifter, Australia’s newest hospitality playground designed for free spirits and adventure-seekers. We blend the boutique comfort of a hotel with the community-driven spirit of a modern hostel, creating vibrant spaces where travellers from around the world come together to connect, unwind, and explore.
We’re looking for a Sales & Promotions Manager to grow our revenue, build partnerships, and bring our venues to life through campaigns, events, and experiences that people want to be part of.
The Opportunity
This is a dynamic, commercially focused role that sits across both sales and experience. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue through events, partnerships, and campaigns, with a strong focus on growing our Food & Beverage offering and creating flow into our accommodation.
You’ll spend your time building relationships, securing new business, and converting opportunities into bookings. At the same time, you’ll lead the development of promotional campaigns and activations that drive engagement, increase visibility, and position Drifter as a destination.
This role works closely with operations, F&B, and marketing teams to ensure what we sell is not only exciting, but also delivers operationally and commercially.
You’ll collaborate with the Regional General Manager and wider team to grow key accounts, strengthen our local presence, and create experiences that align with the Drifter brand.
This role would suit someone with a background in hospitality sales, events, or venue promotions who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on.
Flexibility is required, with occasional evenings and weekends to support events and activations.
What We’re Looking For
You’re someone who enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, and turning ideas into revenue. You’re proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable working across both sales and creative campaign execution.
You’ll likely bring:
- Experience in hospitality sales, events, or promotions
- Confidence managing client relationships and converting enquiries into bookings
- Experience preparing proposals, contracts, or event briefs
- Strong communication skills across phone, email, and in-person interactions
- A proactive and driven approach to building new business
- A creative mindset with an interest in campaigns, events, and partnerships
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of what drives revenue
- The ability to collaborate across teams to deliver great guest experiences
What You Can Expect at Drifter
This role offers the opportunity to shape how we grow — from driving sales and partnerships through to building campaigns that bring our spaces to life.
Alongside that, you’ll have:
- Career progression opportunities across Drifter properties
- Mates’ rates across our accommodation network for you, your family, and your travel crew
- Birthday leave for permanent team members
- Employee Assistance Program and free annual flu vaccination
- Access to our online learning and development platform
- Discounts on everyday brands through our employee benefits program
- Opportunities to explore roles across Australia and New Zealand
- Access to our Work for Accommodation program
- Future sponsorship pathway opportunities for exceptional team members
Drifter is collaborative, practical, and values-led. Professional but not stuffy, we’re a welcoming and inclusive workplace and proudly welcome team members from all races, places, gender expressions, and beliefs.
If this sounds like a role you’d enjoy growing into, we’d love to hear from you.
