In this newly created role, we are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Organisational Design Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of QBE by designing and implementing fit-for-purpose org structures that drive efficiency, agility, and business performance. You will work closely with senior leaders to align structure, roles, and capabilities with our operating model and transformation initiatives, ensuring we have the right organisational structure to support our long-term success.

Your new role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the design and implementation of organisational structures that align with strategic priorities and transformation objectives.
  • Partner with senior leaders to evaluate and evolve the function’s org structure, ensuring optimal alignment between organisational design, capability development, and business goals.
  • Develop and refine methodologies, frameworks, and tools to support effective organisational design and change initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise in job architecture, spans and layers analysis, and role clarity to drive organisational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and Functional Leadership Teams to diagnose structural challenges, identify opportunities for redesign, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Conduct workforce analysis to assess the impact of structural changes and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Guide leaders through the organisational design process, ensuring changes enhance business agility, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Support the execution of change management plans to embed new organisational structures effectively and mitigate disruption to business operations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in hands-on organisation design, including job design, role evaluation, spans and layers analysis. You will also have:

  • Strong experience in large-scale organisations, with exposure to financial services or insurance sectors or consulting advantageous
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, with a track record of leading and implementing large-scale organisational change
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage workforce, finance data and organisational insights to inform decisions
  • Commercially focused with a pragmatic and strategic approach to organisational design and transformation
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, with hands-on experience in org design transformation and the ability to navigate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
