About the job (Part-Time Opportunities Available):

As Ramp Crew, you will be at the heart of every aircraft turnaround — ensuring each flight operates safely, efficiently, and on time. You will deliver ground handling services on behalf of Star Aviation’s customers, maintaining full compliance with safety regulations and service standards.

Your responsibilities include performing below-wing services such as loading and unloading baggage and freight, preparing aircraft for departure, cabin cleaning and operating ground service equipment including pushback tugs, aircraft stairs, GPUs, air conditioning units, water and waste servicing units, and baggage tugs. Working as part of a high-performing team, you will uphold the highest levels of safety, accuracy, and professionalism to ensure every flight departs safely and on schedule.

Your work will include:

Managing aircraft movements

  • Perform Ramp functions including marshalling aircraft in the ramp environment
  • Receipt and dispatch of aircraft, inclusive of pushback
  • Placing chocks and cones around aircraft
  • Operating aircraft passenger doors, hold doors and relevant hatches

Baggage and Freight handling

  • Transfer freight and baggage to arrivals bag room area, other gates, and other airlines (this may include working in collaboration with personnel from other GSPs)
  • Loading aircraft with freight and baggage in full accordance with loading instructions
  • Providing special handling of baggage, freight, and mail, as required
  • Collecting, loading, and unloading live animals and dangerous goods on and off aircraft, when necessary
  • Delivering passenger baggage to the claim area and unloading baggage onto the conveyor system
  • Courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, air freight, and company material
  • Lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight, and company material

Cabin Cleaning / Fleet Presentation

  • Deliver Cabin Cleaning services on behalf of Star Aviation customers in accordance with the Airlines procedures under the direction of the Duty Manager
  • Cleaning the aircraft interior, including but not limited to seats, sidewalls, ceiling panels, carpet, galleys, and cabin lavatories
  • Waste removal
  • Linen change

Passenger Assistance

  • Provide oversight of passenger movements across the tarmac, paying particular attention to passenger safety, comfort, and efficiency
  • Provide support with assisting customers with specific needs, including the use of disabled passenger lifters (DPL)

GSE

  • Operating ground support equipment, including aircraft stairs, container loaders, aircraft ground power units, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft de-icing units, dollies, and passenger vans, when necessary
  • Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment including refuelling, recharging, daily inspection, and fault reporting

Standards, Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Proactively report any hazards, near misses or events in both Star Aviation as well as relevant client safety management system
  • Proactively encourage a safe operating environment through all interactions with other personnel

We’re looking for someone who is physically fit, a strong team player, and able to stay calm in high-pressure situations. You should be dependable, flexible, and open to changing priorities, with the ability to respond quickly and professionally to the demands of the role.

Mandatory requirement

The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.

Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills

Competent in the operational requirements of Ground Handling (ideal)

Working understanding of the Aviation Industry

Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure safe and compliant operations with schedule pressures
