Due to business growth, they are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join their well-established operations team in Canning Vale.

This role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, components, and finished products through our manufacturing supply chain. Working closely with production, warehousing, inventory controller and leadership teams, you will manage purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control, and freight coordination to ensure materials are available to meet production demands while maintaining disciplined inventory levels and cost control.

The Role

As the Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations by effectively managing local and overseas purchase orders to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Responsibilities will include:

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Raise and manage purchase orders for materials, components, and operational supplies
  • Work closely with both local and international suppliers
  • Monitor supplier delivery schedules and follow up on outstanding orders
  • Forecast inventory demands and negotiate pricing and supply terms to achieve competitive purchasing outcomes
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance

Inventory Control & Stock Management

  • Work with the Inventory Controller to maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, and finished goods within the ERP (Ostendo) system
  • Monitor stock levels to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory holdings
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy
  • Maintain accurate inventory data, including item codes, descriptions, and pricing

Freight & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate freight and logistics for both domestic and international shipments
  • Work with freight forwarders and transport providers
  • Track inbound shipments and maintain delivery visibility
  • Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for improvement

Supply Planning & Forecasting

  • Monitor supplier lead times and coordinate with production teams
  • Assist with inventory forecasting based on production and sales demand
  • Support Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices to optimise stock levels
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and assist in reducing excess inventory

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You will ideally have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory control experience working within manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial supply environments
  • Strong understanding of international and local procurement processes
  • Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
  • Strong understanding of international and local freight coordination and logistics
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • ERP system experience (experience with Ostendo is highly regarded)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience working with international suppliers and import logistics will be highly regarded.
