Synergie is seeking an experienced Principal WH&S Advisor (AO6) for a government-focused infrastructure and construction environment, based in Rockhampton.
The important parts:
Start Date: from 13 April 2026
End Date: 25 September 2026
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: $79.17 per hour
What you will be required to do:
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving WHS strategy, compliance, and culture across regional operations.
- Lead and deliver WHS training programs and information sessions
- Provide expert WHS&E advice to operational and management teams
- Oversee site audits, inspections, and contractor compliance
- Manage incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
- Lead WHS systems, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in the role you will:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and relevant standards
- Have proven experience in construction or maintenance environments, identifying hazards and implementing controls
- Show experience developing and delivering WHS programs and initiatives
- Have leadership experience managing teams in complex environments
- Hold full working rights in Australia
- Have reliable transport and the ability to travel as required
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and a proactive safety mindset
Highly desirable:
- Experience aligned with the Queensland Leadership competencies framework (Team Leader stream)
