Ready to make a splash in prevention and early support? Join our vibrant team in the CAFS Program! You'll deliver flexible, trauma-informed services that connect and uplift children, young people, and families, helping them build strong community ties and thrive

The CAFS Program aims to deliver responsive and flexible prevention and early help and support services that meet the needs of children, young people families and communities experiencing or at risk of vulnerability.

Supported playgroups aim to create a welcoming environment for vulnerable children and their families through a family-centred early childhood intervention service. These playgroups, led by skilled practitioners, offer a space that fosters creativity and play for both parents and children. They also provide opportunities for socializing, enhancing early learning for children, and boosting parental well-being.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide opportunities for families/carers to interact within a safe family friendly environment
  • Work collaboratively with The Hub Coordinator to provide a holistic service delivery mode
  • Encouragement of family involvement in planning, implementation and evaluation of programs
  • Monitor development of children and identify any concerns or delays
  • Purchase and maintenance of playgroup resources
  • Provide regular reports to Program Manager
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
  • Proactively raise concerns about any issues that affect the safety and wellbeing of children and young people engaging with MA services.

Requirements for Success

  • Experience in facilitation of playgroups for families with young children
  • Experience working with vulnerable families with young children
  • Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strengths-based practice and principles of community capacity building
  • Knowledge of current best practice in early childhood education
  • Knowledge of current recommended practice in early intervention and prevention for children 0-12years
  • Knowledge of positive parenting skills and child behaviour support strategies
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
