About the role:
As a Plant Technician (Mechanical Profile), you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical maintenance and operational activities that keep the station running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our plant performs at its best economically and sustainably.
Whether you’re from manufacturing, heavy industry, mining, or another mechanical background, if you’ve got strong hands-on experience and a willingness to learn, we’ll support you every step of the way.
Responsibilities?
- Perform maintenance and operational tasks on mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with relevant procedures, standards, and legislation.
- Execute routine and non-routine mechanical maintenance in accordance with Origin’s procedures and operational requirements to support safe and efficient plant performance.
- Participate in the Permit to Work (PTW) system as a competent Permit Acceptor, ensuring safe execution of daily work activities.
- Actively contribute to HSE performance by complying with Origin’s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies, and mandatory training requirements.
- Support continuous improvement and change initiatives, including root cause analysis of incidents and participation in plant outages and project works.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork, applying Origin values to build positive relationships with stakeholders and maintain a collaborative work environment.
What will you bring?
- Current Mechanical Trade qualification and a valid “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Proven experience in CMMS, Permit to Work systems, and supporting plant shutdowns and minor project work.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, investigate, and contribute to the resolution of plant faults, failures, and incidents.
- Sound understanding of HSE procedures and Management of Change processes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and procedures, with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to adapt to changing operational requirements.
