Background
The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres northwest of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines. Part of Harmony Australasia, the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
About the role
The PITRAM Underground Operator is responsible for coordinating underground operational activities and maintaining accurate production and operational records. The role acts as a key communication point across operational teams and provides critical data and reporting to support safe and efficient mine operations.
We are currently offering a 12-month contract to cover Maternity Leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the achievement of daily production targets and monthly rolling averages
- Generate and maintain shift production reports, including equipment and personnel movement
- Act as a central communication point during emergencies, supporting response coordination and ensuring accurate information flow
- Ensure compliance with all site and company policies and procedures
- Validate and maintain daily production data using mine coordinates
- Assist supervisors and operational teams with coordination of underground activities
- Perform additional tasks as directed by your supervisor
- Monitor, analyse and escalate critical system alarms to ensure safe operations and minimise operational impact.
About you
- Previous experience in underground mining role essential
- Good problem-solving skills
- A strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Deswik Ops experience is highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Strong focus on safety, quality and productivity
- Ability to coordinate and supervise operational activities
- Capability to plan and prioritise work effectively
