Physiotherapist – Residential Aged Care
Sydney Central Allied Health Model

About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver person‑centred, function‑focused physiotherapy within our Residential Aged Care homes.Working as part of the Sydney Central Allied Health Team, you will play a key role in implementing the Function First Model, ensuring residents receive the right allied health input at the right time to optimise mobility, safety, and wellbeing.
You will work closely with residents to understand what matters most to them and deliver tailored interventions that support functional independence, including:
- Comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and clinical care
- Functional movement, mobility, and strength‑based interventions
- Exercise prescription and movement re‑training
- Falls risk identification and mitigation
- Health promotion, wellbeing, and self‑management education
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver physiotherapy services aligned with the Function First Allied Health Model
- Prioritise resident function, safety, and independence in all clinical decision‑making
- Complete comprehensive assessments, post‑fall reviews, and risk‑based interventions
- Collaborate closely with Exercise Physiologists, Allied Health Assistants, nursing, and care teams
- Contribute to safe, consistent, and high‑quality allied health service delivery across homes
- Support continuous improvement, clinical governance, and best practice care
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with organisational and legislative requirements
- Utilise systems and technology to support effective care planning and communication
- Commit to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
About You
You are a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapist who enjoys working collaboratively and is committed to delivering high‑quality care for older people.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication, organisation, and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to care delivery
