Responsibilities or duties

You’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues by:

• Perform routine maintenance, repair tasks and preventative maintenance on guest rooms, facilities and equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment and systems
• Install and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
• Perform carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
• Ensure that all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards

Qualifications or requirements

Experience needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Handyman, maintenance, facilities role (hotel experience highly regarded) or similar role
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Experience with carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment and systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Understanding of WHS and safe work practices
• Trade qualifications are an advantage but not essential
