A well-established Melbourne-based developer builder with an office in the inner CBD ring, is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee projects from sale through to construction and handover.
They deliver mid-to-large residential projects, including standalone homes and medium-density townhouse developments. This is a central, hands-on role where you will manage project workflow, pre-construction processes, and client communication, working closely with sales, estimating, drafting, and construction teams to ensure projects run efficiently and clients receive a seamless experience.
What You'll Do
Sales & Pre-Construction
- Monitor the 10/90 pipeline and ensure contracts are issued promptly
- Chase client deposits and track finance approvals through to settlement
- Manage client communication and workflow during pre-construction
- Ensure projects move smoothly from sale into construction readiness
Documentation & Approvals
- Prepare and issue AS4000 building contracts
- Coordinate building permit approvals
- Work with estimating and drafting teams to finalise documentation and design details
- Ensure all documentation is complete before construction begins
Project Delivery & Reporting
- Maintain dashboards and project tracking systems
- Produce weekly reports on project and construction progress
- Keep projects moving efficiently from pre-construction into delivery
Client Experience & Handover
- Support a strong client experience throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate handover documentation and final project stages
- Assist with maintenance coordination and post-completion follow-up
You Will Ideally Have or Have a Background In
- End-to-end residential construction project delivery, from pre-construction through to handover
- Managing contracts, permits, deposits, and client communication
- Coordinating workflow across multiple teams, including estimating, drafting, and construction
- Experience either executing hands-on workflow or leading a small team, with potential to grow into broader operational responsibilities
- Comfortable stepping in to manage projects directly or overseeing processes strategically
- Must Have Full Australian Working Rights
