About the role

  • Deliver best practicable assessment outcome, in either repair cost or total loss (i.e. Closed File Reviews, Open File Reviews etc.).
  • Comply with motor assessing process, guidelines, allowances parts policy, severity coding requirements and repairer standards.
  • Wherever appropriate, apply repair cost benchmarking, alternative parts reporting and scorecards to improve repairer performance.
  • Contribute to improving the customer service of Selected and non-Selected repairers.
  • Provide customers with access to the prompt resolution of complaints, including repair warranty, service related and other issues.
  • Meet or exceed productivity objectives.
  • Complete total loss reports within 24 hours of assessment wherever practicable.

About You

  • Trade qualification and significant post-apprenticeship experience in their profession as a panel beater, spray painter or motor mechanic; or significant experience as a motor insurance assessor, or completion of the CAC approved units of the Certificate IV Vehicle Loss Assessing Course (desired).
  • Experience in repair shop management / estimating and in motor vehicle assessing practices and in the provision of damaged vehicle quotations. (desired).
  • Quoting experience (desired).
  • A current driver's license.
  • Good understanding of the Motor Vehicle Insurer and Repair Industry Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
