Kununurra is a beautiful remote town located in the East Kimberley. One Tree Kununurra Community Childcare and Education Centre is a brand-new childcare centre and will be working alongside with our Woothoo-woothoong Ninggoowoong Dawang Children’s Service next door. If you’re looking for new experiences, then you’ll love working at this new service.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Provide support services for the trainees at both Kununurra services through the Pathways Projects
  • Support in signing up more trainees working at the Kununurra services
  • Provide holistic support to the Kununurra trainees
  • Increase completion rates of trainees in Kununurra
  • Assist to provide a culturally safe workplace
  • Assist to meet the outcomes and deliverables as set out in the Pathways Project Plan

Qualifications or requirements

  • Ability to work autonomously and work within a budget
  • Strong local knowledge and understanding
  • Display high level of cultural intelligence
  • Connect with others and support goal development and growth
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and developing efficiencies in service delivery
  • Approachable, sensitive, and a can-do attitude.
  • Understanding of and commitment to One Tree’s mission, values, and code of ethics
  • Passion for working alongside community to support better outcomes for children and families

  • Part-time fixed-term – Monday to Wednesday (22.5 hours per week)
