Griffin Marine Services has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marine Auto Upholsterer / Insulator to join our Cairns team. This role involves repairing and replacing thermal blankets, exhaust insulation and marine upholstery on both pleasure craft and commercial vessels across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, stitch, sew insulation and cladding materials
- Manufacture, redesign, fit and install thermal blankets and lagging
- Install insulation to engine exhaust systems on marine vessels and ships
- Carry out general marine and auto upholstery work
- Work from installation drawings and procedures
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe, serviceable condition
- Assist other trades where required and work flexibly across tasks
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Auto/Marine Upholsterer or Insulator
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and PPE requirements
- Mechanically minded with a versatile, hands-on approach
- Physically fit and capable of ongoing manual work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Current Driver’s Licence with reliable transport (required)
- Construction White Card (required)
- Relevant trade qualifications, certifications, or proven industry experience
- Willingness to support the business across a variety of tasks
Mandatory Requirements
- Ability to pass Police Check and Drug & Alcohol Screening
- Valid Driving License
- Eligible to obtain a Defence Clearance Pass
- Full and valid Australian working rights
