Manager, Financial Accounting Superannuation | Sydney
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accounting leader to join a well‑established, purpose‑driven superannuation fund. This is a senior role within the finance function, with responsibility for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of financial reporting across the fund and related entities.
Working closely with the CFO and broader finance leadership team, this role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality statutory and regulatory reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and partnering across the organisation to support sound financial outcomes.
In this position, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end financial accounting and reporting, including:
- Leading the preparation and review of annual and consolidated financial statements
- Ensuring full compliance with accounting standards, legislative and regulatory requirements
- Managing APRA regulatory reporting and maintaining a robust reporting control environment
- Leading external and internal audit processes and managing audit queries effectively
- Reviewing journals, reconciliations, reserves and financial controls across all entities
- Overseeing accounting for member transactions, investment pricing and valuation activities
- Leading and developing a small specialist finance team
- Driving continuous improvement across processes, controls and systems
About you
You will be a technically strong finance professional with experience operating in complex, regulated environments. You bring a pragmatic, hands‑on approach and are comfortable balancing detail with the broader commercial context.
You will ideally have:
- CPA or CA qualification
- Extensive experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting and audit management
- Background within superannuation or broader financial services sector
- Experience working across multiple entities and group structures
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at senior levels
Why consider this role?
This is a chance to step into a meaningful leadership role within superannuation, contributing to a fund with a strong member‑first and purpose‑led culture. The role offers genuine scope to influence financial reporting quality, controls and ways of working, while partnering closely with senior leaders across the business.
