The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.

We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW. You will oversee all aspects of mechanical maintenance for our surface and underground fixed plant operations, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and systems. This is a permanent role on a 8/6 back to back roster reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager.

Your duties with entail, although not limited to the following:

  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for surface and underground fixed plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements and company safety standards
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply teams to optimise plant performance and reliability
  • Manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on quality and safety
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes

ABOUT YOU

Previous demonstrated experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance within the mining industry, with added experience in a supervisory or superintendent role (ESSENTIAL)

Deep commitment to maintaining a safe working environment

Trade or engineering qualifications in Mechanical or a related field

Extensive knowledge of surface and underground mining equipment and maintenance practices

Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
