Southern Tasmania

Permanent Part-Time

CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church across Tasmania. We have 60 years’ experience delivering a wide range of services and support to improve individual, family and community wellbeing. Our services are available and open to all with a particular focus on families, young people and children.

CatholicCare Tasmania’s Early Learning and Care are looking for a passionate and energetic part-time Lead Educator to join our fantastic team in our Outside School Hours Care Program in Southern Tasmania.

CatholicCare Tasmania Early Learning and Care Programs aim to provide the highest standard of care. Children’s programs are planned to be developmentally appropriate and stimulating. Cultural and social inclusiveness together with family involvement in all aspects of the activities is vital to the functioning of our services.

The Role:

  • Create and lead a positive and enriching environment to support and engage school aged children in OHSC and vacation care.
  • Lead and guide a team to run an engaging program
  • Maintain effective communication with the parents
  • You will have the opportunity to use your skills to help create an engaging program.
  • You will become part of the CatholicCare team that help support and enrich the lives of children and families.

As a Lead Educator you will need:

  • Passion for the Early Childhood Industry and are an enthusiastic and supportive Educator
  • A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Proven experience working in a similar lead educator role
  • Current First Aid Certificate, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis Certificate or the ability to acquire this promptly
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • National Police Check
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret Policies and Procedures
