About the Role
The role sits within the Research & Analysis (R&A) function of the Australia Corporate team. This is a dynamic and high-impact team that supports the end-to-end management of a diversified portfolio of Mid-Market Enterprise clients across sectors such as retail, manufacturing, industrials, media, and entertainment.
The R&A function plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and managing credit risks, acting as a key interface between Coverage and Risk teams. The team is focused on delivering balanced, risk-aware outcomes while maintaining a strong emphasis on customer focus, proactive risk management, and operational efficiency.The role encompasses the full end-to-end relationship credit management lifecycle, including:
- Credit writing
- Risk grading
- Financial and risk analysis
- Credit approval processes
- Documentation review
- Ongoing portfolio monitoring in line with the “well-managed” principle
What will your day look like?
As a Lead Analyst – Research & Analysis, your key accountabilities will include:
- Conducting detailed financial and credit analysis for corporate clients
- Identifying and managing risks within a client’s capital structure, ownership, and financial performance
- Preparing high-quality credit papers, including industry and company analysis
- Managing and updating risk grading and event-driven reviews
- Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers and Credit teams on risk, financial insights, and client performance
- Ensuring the portfolio remains within defined risk and quality parameters (well-managed framework)
- Partnering with the Legal team to review, interpret, and understand transaction documentation and deal structures.
What will you bring?
To Grow and Be Successful in This Role, You Will Bring:
- 6+ years of experience in corporate credit analysis, preferably within the banking sector, with exposure to the US market
- Strong credit analysis fundamentals, including financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
- Solid business acumen with understanding of industries and market dynamics.
- Excellent credit writing and report writing skills.
- Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance) from a premier institution, or equivalents such as Master’s in Economics
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build effective stakeholder relationships
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking, sound judgment, and lateral problem-solving skills.
