Background

This role is within the Department of Corrections – Clinical Rehabilitation and Reintegration.

Responsibilities/Roles:

  • Co‑facilitate offence‑specific programs with clinicians.
  • Provide cultural brokerage and advice in assessments/treatment.
  • Address criminogenic risks and needs.
  • Offer cultural oversight and support to staff.
  • Maintain clear case notes and records.
  • Engage with stakeholders for cohesive case management.
  • Participate in supervision and professional development.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience in rehabilitation programs for Aboriginal people in custody.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • High‑level understanding of Aboriginal issues/trends.
  • Ability to work in custodial environments.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of criminal justice system; relevant degree (Psychology, Criminology, Social Work, Community Services).
