For you:
Monday to Friday role!
Working hours for 6am to 2pm!
$30.19 p/hr + Super!
Temp to Perm after 4 months!
Upskilling and training in other departments available!
Key Responsibilities
Handle a variety of items including mattress covers, bed pumps, linen, and medical bandages
Break down mattresses, wipe down, and sanitise thoroughly
Load mattress covers into industrial washing machines and dryers
Sort and process soiled materials received in red sanitation bags
Work in environments that may have strong odours due to hospital sources
Lift items (up to 10kg) onto benches for sorting and cleaning
Inspect pumps and equipment for damage or faults before cleaning
Support basic testing, inflating mattresses, and identifying repair needs
Assist with rolling, bagging, and preparing items for dispatch
Reassemble cleaned mattresses with fresh covers and palletise for shipment
Follow strict infection control and hygiene procedures at all times
Use PPE including gowns, gloves, and optional face masks
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and turnaround times
Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a laundry attendant (hospital, hotel, or hospitality) highly regarded
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail
Experience in hygiene-sensitive or infection-controlled environments preferred
Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced setting
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Understanding of infection control standards, or willingness to learn
Reliable, safety-focused, and proactive in following procedures
This role also offers the opportunity to be trained in testing and tagging equipment, as well as developing skills in basic repair work.
