JOB DETAILS:
Background
This role is within the Department of Lands, Planning and Environment – Regional Ecosystems and Landscape Mapping (REALM).
Responsibilities/Roles:
- Plan and undertake fieldwork in remote areas.
- Maintain field equipment (soil rigs, vehicles, comms gear).
- Collect soil and vegetation data.
- Collate data into corporate databases.
- Use GIS to compile geodatabases and reports.
- Liaise with agencies and stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to plan and conduct fieldwork.
- Knowledge of natural resource assessment techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and GIS software.
- Strong communication skills.
- Teamwork and independent work ability.
- NT Driver’s Licence and 4WD proficiency.
Desirable:
- Scientific/technical qualification, knowledge of NT landscapes, mechanical skills.
