Aurenne Group Mining are seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand to join our site-based team. This hands-on role is critical in supporting the efficient and safe operation of kitchen and dining facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and service delivery for all site personnel.

The Operation

Our 240+ person camp supports around 195 people on-site at a time. It’s a tight-knit, well-supported environment with all the essentials: comfortable rooms, great food, a gym, and a walking trail. Just a short flight from Perth (via our private airstrip) or a drive from Kalgoorlie, our site is as convenient as it is community driven.

About the position:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Hand to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. You must be a qualified Chef, or an outstanding cook with many years’ experience catering to large numbers across breakfast and dinner services. There will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with:

Responsibilities or duties

• Maintaining Quality and hygiene standards to Food safe standards
• Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the camp;
• Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS;
• Maintaining kitchen hygiene;
• Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimise food wastage.
• Preparing food to Chef’s instructions.
• Peeling and cutting vegetables.
• Work as team with Chef on duty

Qualifications or requirements

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (desired).
• 2 years chef experience (desired).
• High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
• Experience in a mining village operation preferred.
• Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
• Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Able to work a flexible FIFO roster.
• Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
• Medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical.
